I'm super excited to announce that I have selected the first ever Blink Ambassadors. These lovely ladies will be representing Blink Lettering over the next 6 months, by taking part in Better Brush Drills (August Challenge) and Better Brush Letters (September challenge). They will also share posts using other Blink Lettering workbooks that will be coming out towards the end of this year! Some of them are beginners, and I'm excited to see how they progress over the next 6 months. Others are more experienced and are keen to help out any newbies and share their knowledge.
USA@letteringbykarenHi! I’m Karen Reynolds, the person behind the pen of Lettering by Karen. I am a trained exercise physiologist and currently a stay-at-home mom to two daughters. I discovered lettering in December 2017 when I asked for a workbook for Christmas. I fell in love with it immediately, and now I cannot seem to put down the pen, the watercolors, the chalk marker, you name it! Fortunately, my kids enjoy art as much as I do, and you can often find the three of us playing with chalk on the driveway or paint at the kitchen table. When I’m not practicing lettering or momming, I spend my free time filling commissioned orders, playing with my dog, watching tv, and eating all of the chocolate. I am a brand ambassador for Life of Colour, an Australian-based art supply company, and TCW paints, American-based handmade watercolors. I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
USA@loveelettersHi! My name’s Katy! I’m a 20-something year old artist from New England. I started my lettering journey back in 2014 when I was first diagnosed with Lyme and going through treatment. Since then, it’s been a tremendous part of my life! I love continuing to learn and push past my comfort zone with trying new styles and mediums. I think there’s all something we can learn from each other so I’m really excited about being an ambassador and getting to letter along and grow with everyone!
Belgium@littlefoxstudioauHello! I’m Kirstan, I’m 27 years old and from the Southwest region of Western Australia. I’m a wife and currently a stay at home dog mama to Ruby (Little Fox) and her new baby brother Jasper. I have always loved to ‘write pretty’ and remember as a kid I would constantly be doodling my name in different styles. I could often be found daydreaming in the stationery section at the supermarket or browsing through office supplies catalogues and would spend all my pocket money buying stationery, paper or art supplies - something I have never grown out of! I began lettering in 2017 when I was making cards and could never find stamps with both the font and wording I wanted. I have always been creative and totally obsessed with colour and had tried many art forms but it wasn’t until I discovered that what I called ‘writing pretty’ was a form of art called lettering, I knew I’d found the art form for me. My health is always up and down so I’ve never stuck to any real daily drills practice but do try to letter something every day, even if it’s just a few random words on the back of a shopping receipt while I drink my beloved coffee. I have mostly been doing digital lettering on my iPad recently, but going forward I really want to focus in on hand lettering with all the amazing supplies I have collected over the years. I lack a lot of confidence in my work because my letters are never consistent - so I’m really looking forward to jumping head first into the Better Brush Drills practice and being an ambassador for the amazing Blink Lettering. I’m determined to practice every day and gain that confidence I need to take my lettering to the next level. Thanks for being part of my journey.
Belgium@elymeltingpotHi, my name is Elyne, I'm 22 and I live in Brussels, Belgium. As far as I csan remember, I've always been into arts and crafts. Over time, I got to try out several things, from pottery to calligraphy, even a bit of cosplay back in the days. Today, I'm doing some cake design when at home, photography when traveling. Around a month ago, I finally bought myself some watercolors pens and some sketching pencil, and I started drawing, sketching, and painting. In the meantime, I tried out lettering as well, and ran into Milly's better brush drill challenge. It felt like the perfect opportunity to practice and being a blinklettering ambassador is an even bigger motivation. I hope you'll enjoy keeping up on my evolution as a left-handed through this challenge!
UK@christine.embersonHello. I live in the in Kent, the South East corner of England. I'm a busy single mum to two sons, too many cats and a pampered pooch named Bella. I work part time in London for a law firm, but when I'm not working I spend every available minute indulging in my passion of crafting. Always eager to try something new, my latest curiosities are calligraphy and crochet. I works from a woodland cabin in my parents’ beautiful garden. While locked away in my cabin, I always has a DVD playing from my diverse collection, from period dramas like Downton Abbey to series like Stranger Things and Game of Thrones. I'm also well known for saying a glass of red wine and chocolate definitely helps with creativity! I design for two US craft manufacturers and you can see me on Hochanda TV.
UK@alexandraillustrated98Hi! I’m Alex, I’m a lettering artist and illustrator and I’ve been lettering for the past 2 years. I run my own business which incorporates my love for lettering and illustration. I mainly work on weddings, craft fairs, personalised gifts, larger scale pieces, invites and prints. I use a mix between traditional and digital mediums, but now mainly use my iPad to create my work.Last year I took part in the 100 day challenge and lettered 100 of my favourite tv/movie quotes. Over those days of practice, I saw my style change and evolve, my lettering become less shaky and my iPad/procreate knowledge grew.I like to bring my sense of humour into my work as well as my love for my family, boyfriend, cat, tea and music. So that’s me, I’m super excited to be an ambassador!Check out Alex's website here.
